problems that could be righted by men functioning not only as thinkers and complainers but as doers CONIDENCE By THOMAS GIANCARLO St Collegiate Institute Sophomore Confidence is truly a strange thing When we go about doing something we rriust have confidence enough to think we can do it and do it well assurance any task to be done be comes mammoth in proportion The most successful people in any field are so because they know what they can do They believe in themselves and their talents so that whatever they do is done to the best of their ability Of course one must first have some skill in which to have confidence Some people are afraid to show confidence in themselves Actually what they are afraid of is failure We fear making mistakes however If we supposed to err at one time or another we would all have been made perfect That would be quite boring We learn from our errors and the next time we try to do something it quite as difficult Confidence in ourselves can cause humiliation if we should fail but if we are unsure of ourselves from the start we can hardly hope to accomplish very much Confidence takes courage but that is what sets the pattern for success for all
